Nowadays, birdwatching is no longer just a hobby, but a way of life.
I attended an eight-month training programme arranged by Finnature in 1997. The themes were bird identification and the guidance of birdwatching groups. Working, mainly guidance, for Finnature was my full-time job ever since until March 2007, when I established my own company. Now I do guidings as a freelance. I consider myself lucky because my hobby has become my work.
In addition to guidance, photography has been an important part of my work and hobby since 2002. Then I got my first digiscoping-camera, Nikon Coolpix 4500. I still carry a digiscoping camera, despite now a DSLR camera, Canon 7D and 300/2.8 objective are the equipment I mainly use. I have also written many different bird-theme articles for magazines and newspapers and texts for some books.
In addition to Finland and Northern Norway, I have been birding in England, Israel, Hungary, Spain, India and China.
